"Could not retrieve tab index" error

Getting an infinite series of dialog boxes with this message.

Here's how to reproduce:

1. Open file in HxD
2. Drag/drop same file into HxD
3. While the tab is still blinking, middle-click the tab to close

Then the dialog boxes start appearing!
