I deleted the AI generated responses, that seem to have appeared on a couple topics the last days.

Re: Open files in WinRE
Which Windows version of WinRE did you use? When you said "and opened the program" you mean you opened HxD and it started successfully? But clicking the menu File|Open does not show a file open window? If that's the case, this is a limitation of the specific configuration/WinRE version. Bu...

Re: Mass Edit One Column
There is no option to replace all values in a column. But if the value in the column does only appear in column 8 and nowhere else in the file, you could do a replace all of this value with "01".

Re: Assertion fehlgeschlagen
Hmm, interesting. Is the 32 bit and 64 bit edition of the same version number?

Great. What did you do to fix it? It is not reproducible here.

Re: Tile Window funtion always puts files in the wrong order, can't re-arrange
hi,
It's how Windows does it automatically. The logic seems to be that the currently selected one will end up at the bottom of the cascade/first one of the tile.
Try activating another window/tab before you execute tile/cascade and see how the cascade/tiling changes.

Re: Fixed: cannot open clipboard?
It was 30 mins editing time (that means changing the message after you submitted it), I extended it to 60. There is no limit to edit your text while composing it! You also can just go back in the browser and the text is still there, and just make a second post. Forms don't expire in this forum. Anyw...

Re: Fixed: cannot open clipboard?
First of all, it would help to give details when complaining about a bug (steps to reproduce and error message). But regarding this specific "bug", it's a Windows issue. Sometimes the clipboard cannot be opened because another program is still locking it. You can observe that in other prog...

Re: Suggestion for HxD:User templates for data inspector
CSS is a declarative language that can also use functions to calculate property values, much like HSD can have virtual fields (not virtual as in C++/Delphi, but virtual, as in not having any memory location allocated in the stream the structure template is applied to). https://cmiller.tech/blog/css-...

Re: technical question about save and save as commands
Hi Javid, Sure let's see those experiments :) Regarding your question. So you have modified a file, and once you save it, and the other time you chose save as. The file "save as" indeed creates a whole new file with the complete contents, it's a copy of the entire data stream (original fil...

Possibly wire transfer.
But thinking of it, I would appreciate a small letter or post card from your place
A big reason why I initially started to make this software is to connect with people.

Re: HxD editor is blurred in Windows 10 on 120 DPI setting
The VCL framework that I use is not fully DPI aware (which means several fixes/patches are necessary) and new code (for example to handle multi-resolution image lists), and it would also require some adjustments/redrawing of icons (you can notice that in the DPI scaled versions the icons are too sma...

Re: Split problem when base name includes extra periods
Thanks for pointing it out. PayPal seems to mess up those links regularly. I'll look into it.
Edit (25.3.2023): seems PayPal itself fixed the issue.
