Re: Find and Goto dialogs

That first one is definitely a new bug that should be fixed. I've used HxD for many years and it always used to remember your selection, at least for the current session. Now it seems to "force" hex every time you open the dialog.

Re: 'Find all in files' binary search

Maël, could you please let me know if this feature is something you would consider implementing? It would still be very useful to have. Thank you.

Re: Please remove "Decoded text" from editor view

I just found an older feature request that shows leaving out the text column header is confusing: https://forum.mh-nexus.de/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=894 As a veteran user of HxD, I really do not like the new "Decoded text" header. This is the second time now I've had to use HxD to edit HxD...

Add additional checksum algorithms

HxD is starting to come together nicely! Great work so far on HxD 2.2! :D I'd like to request some additional checksum algorithms that are commonly used. These include, but are not limited to: Jenkins-One-At-A-Time (JOAAT) CRC64 FNV-1a (32-bit & 64-bit) With the potential addition of CRC64, it m...

Re: Shortcuts for "insert bytes" and "fill selection"

+1 :D

Ctrl+Shift+F or something similar would be nice for 'Fill selection', and maybe Ctrl+Shift+I for 'Insert bytes'?

'Find all in files' binary search

One thing I would absolutely love for HxD to have that would make it much more useful to people like me, is the ability to search multiple binary files for a particular pattern of hex characters or a string. Notepad++ is one of the only programs I know of that does this, but that's not a hex editor,...

Re: HxD Beta soon?

Hard to believe it's been almost 5 years since I wrote this post, and only about a week ago did I learn that my dreams finally came true. Thank you so much, Maël! :D :D

Re: Relative offsets and possibly other structure assisting tools

Until something like this gets implemented (if ever), you could try using my method of seeking to relative offsets: Place the cursor at the beginning of the structure. Press Ctrl + E to bring up the 'Select block' dialog. Tab twice to the 'Length' input box. Enter the relative offset to the data. ??...

Toggle for 'Decoded text' header

I'm not quite a fan of the new 'Decoded text' line above the hexadecimal output, and I ended up using the old HxD to remove it from the new HxD ( HxDception?! ). I propose adding a simple checkbox above 'Fit to window width' inside the 'Layout' group, possibly 'Show decoded text header' or something...

Without the actual data to look at, there's no way to help you. Sorry.

Re: Is there new version of HxD on the way?

Surely you've got something by now? HxD is starting to feel outdated, and with no other good free hex editors (even open-source ones) out there, it's really starting to take a toll on me. I'm a software developer myself, so I understand just how time consuming it can be for these sort of things. If ...

Re: HxD Beta soon?

Thank you for the reply. I completely understand what you mean, and yes indeed, it is Freeware after all. I appreciate the time and effort you've put into the HxD project and how well it has come along over the years. Hopefully you will come across the time to work on HxD. I was primarily interested...

Done: HxD Beta soon?

Hi Maël, I'm sure I speak for many of us when I ask if HxD will ever be receiving a beta update? I've heard it was going to be the spring of 2013, then the summer, and now it's just silence. A beta is exactly that - a beta. If there are any bugs, we help you find them! Do you have any updates regard...

Selection loop

While this probably could be done using the calculator, this would be a nifty feature. Let's say I'm trying to find a list of vertices and want to figure out the length of each vertex and get an exact count. I have a number that tells me how many there are, let's say there's 300. But there's always ...
