What hotkeys do you have in mind specifically? To show the checksum selection window, or to immediately select a checksum? (Making them settable is not easily possible with the current toolbar system.)

Though, ignoring by default is still not that clean/expectable, as you might indeed want to open an entire folder in future. Or maybe compare folders, like WinMerge! I think adding an option --ignore-folder-params to HxD or similar is better.

Regarding this subject:

- Please make HxD remember the last tab used - I never need text search so it's an additional unnecessary click to go to hex search.
- Please make HxD remember the last used search direction - I never need 'Forward' but 'All' so it's another unnecessary click.

- Open three files, size does not matter.
- Calculate MD5 for one file -> At the bottom of the screen the checksum will be displayed along with a combobox to choose the other files.
- Click on the combobox and the file list appears.

While at it: Please make the window height a bit larger for the checksum selection.

I use the checksum feature quite often.
Right now, this means I have to click several times to get to where I want to go.

Please let the user set hotkeys for certain checksum functions.
