Not possible I am afraid (assuming I understood you correctly in my previous post).

Re: Search within comparison results
I don't fully understand your example.
What I guess you mean is that two files should be compared, and the list of differences between two files should be searchable. So instead of searching complete files, you only search the highlighted differences.

Re: Documentation for HxDCurrentVersion.json
Locale names: Generally follow the pattern <language>-<REGION> . language is an ISO 639-1 language code if available for that language, otherwise it is an ISO 639-2/T language code. REGION is an ISO 3166-1 country/region identifier. REGION is in all uppercase to clearly differentiate it from Script...

Re: HxDCurrentVersion.json outdated
Ok, the file is now automatically created from information stored in a database that also drives the download page. The DB was enhanced with additional information/structure to make this possible. The documentation of the old file format (and the slightly updated one) is here: https://forum.mh-nexus...

Re: Documentation for HxDCurrentVersion.json
The new format is slightly different: Langs now uses language names , derived from "locale names"/ LOCALE_SNAME (also called "Language Culture Name", " CultureInfo.Name ", or " language tag " ( on MSDN or BCP 47 language tag (Wikipedia) ), such as de-DE , or e...

Documentation for HxDCurrentVersion.json
At the time of this writing the HxDCurrentVersion.json file looks like this: { "Product": "HxD", "Edition": "installable", "Development-Stage": "stable", "Version": "2.4.0.0", "Release-Date": "2020-02-28T0...

Re: Logical Disk vs Physical Disk
Maybe these pictures give a rough idea of the concept (LBA, means linear block address and is another word for sector number, so for example LBA 0 = sector 0). Note that the given sector positions for GPT are not necessarily the same for MBR nor are they fixed. The illustrations have example values....

Re: Logical Disk vs Physical Disk
A physical disk is subdivided into several partitions, a logical disk is usually contained in one partition (there is also a case where a volume/logical disk can span several partitions, but that's rarely the case). The first logical disk usually starts several sectors inside the physical disk. Look...

Re: App doesn't open after editing with hxd
You can take a screenshot with the PtrnScr key and then paste it into Paint, or use any other screengrabbing tool. Taking a picture of the screen with a camera doesn't create good results. Regarding your problem. You have to overwrite the existing characters, and make sure you don't add more than th...

Re: Don't clear Undo buffer on Save
A few bucks would not nearly account for the development time needed
And the editor you mention has other issues in its implementation. The fundamental problems related to locking can not be circumvented, unless the implementation is buggy.

Re: Don't clear Undo buffer on Save
As mentioned before, this is due to huge/unlimited file size support. When you edit a file in HxD the file itself will not be modified until you save it. To store the edits (and display them as if the file was already modified) an efficient diff data structure was designed that holds those changes a...

Re: Don't clear Undo buffer on Save
This is a frequent request but cannot be implemented due to large file support. The changes to a file are stored in a kind of a diff data structure that needs the opened file to remain unchanged, which is why it has to be locked after the first edit. When you save a file, it gets modified, so any di...
