Re: HxD V2.1 The company name cannot be empty
Which language of HxD are you using, and which edition (portable or installable) and what Windows version/language?
Also when does it happen, at startup or end or when?
Thanks.

Re: HxD V2.1 The company name cannot be empty
I tried it under Windows 10 x64 Simplified Chinese, and I couldn't reproduce it.
I'll add logging to HxD so we can find out what happens. Have you tried moving HxDx64.exe to a new folder so that the settings folder is recreated? Does it still show this error at startup?

Yes.
It works very well.

Re: HxD V2.1 The company name cannot be empty
So, I'll close it as "cannot reproduce" since we both seem to not be able to trigger this behavior.

I had another user report a similar error: https://forum.mh-nexus.de/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1156
Did you use Sandboxie maybe, or something similar that hooks into operating system functions?
