selection length view in decimal

Post by CrytoGen »

Can you add selection length view in decimal? Then I can select desired block and select displayed columns number.

Maybe you don't know, but you can switch the offsets to decimal or octal (by clicking on the offset-label, changing the offset-base in the menu, or using the drop-down-box that says "hex"). Then all the other offset-related numbers, such as block length are also displayed in decimal/octal.

You'll see a (d) for decimal that indicates this.

If you meant something else, please state it more precisely.

I know this is an old thread, but it's somewhat related to what I'd like to see.

I think it would be very helpful to be able to choose more than one number-base. It would it be nice to have multiple bases displayed side by side at the same time for selection lengths/offsets/blocks in the status bar.
It would save me from having to convert in my head all of the time... or save me from a bunch of mouse exercises of flipping them between each other so often.
Thanks for your consideration.
Cordially,

Hi.
I agree that on the bottom part there is easily space for both hex and dec offset and length.
But still keep the option for the line prefix as -either- dec or hex or oct.
Thanks, Deve.
