I often use "paste special" in Hexworkshop, can you add this function in HxD?

HxD is a great program, I like it so much!

Yes, I'll add something like this.

Thank you!

Here is another hex editor (freeware), it has stopped further development for long time. I think it has some features can be used as reference:

Do you have something special in mind?

hexedit 1.2 has some useful features:
paste special
paste from
copy to
clear
display data as hex, decimal, octal and binary, but it don't support copy these 4 format data into a text file.

clear can be done using "fill selection", I will not add an extra menu item for this
display data as hex, decimal, octal and binary
Maybe sometime in the future but this isn't a priority.

paste special
yes, like I said above

paste from
copy to
Why not use the normal copy and paste?

"clear" is a shortcut of using "fill selection with 0x00", it is more convinent to use. Please consider this feature again. :)

Yes, I agree that it isn't a priority, but this feature can be used to indicate HxD is a super hex editor... :)

"paste from" and "copy to" can be done using normal copy and paste, but they are more convinent, they are shortcuts users ofter used, please consider to include them in next version. :)

My point is that I don't want to crowd HxD with similar operations.
If something is new and can't be easily done with existing features then this makes sense.

I want to avoid to implement everything that might be good or just makes the feature list longer.
My TODO-list is long, this feature needs quite some modifications, I doubt this will be often used, so I focus on the other things first.

How often do you use them? Do you often want to paste an entire file?
The problem is all this leads to having too many shortcuts; in the end you will not find any of them.
